Dear dharma sisters and brothers,
We have moved our programs online using Zoom. Zoom offers the option to speak to the facilitator and other students online, and so in this way, we can be part of a virtual sangha and support each other. You will receive a link with instructions if you have registered for a class. While many of our programs continue uninterrupted, some are cancelled or revised, so please check our website and your email for the latest updates.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has advised reciting the Tara mantra (OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SVAHA) as much as possible. Click here for an audio clip of His Holiness chanting the mantra. For Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s advice on the coronavirus and other illnesses, click here.
As dharma practitioners, now is the time when the power of the Three Jewels can brighten our minds, give us courage, and sweeten our presence for everyone. The fragrance of dharma can imbue all our activities. For example, when you wash your hands, instead of singing “Happy Birthday,” try reciting the 100-syllable Vajrasattva mantra or the Compassion Buddha mantra (OM MANI PADME HUM) 20 times. Or, when you wash your hands, you can think, “I am washing away all the stains of delusions of all sentient beings.”
Thank you for your patience as we try our best to deal skillfully with this evolving crisis. We will continue to monitor events and assess when it is safe to reopen the center.
All good wishes and love from the entire Shantideva team.
Note: Shantideva Center’s decision does not affect yoga classes offered by Yogis & Yoginis in our shared space. Please visit their website for the latest information.
