Earth Day falls on Wednesday, April 22. To honor this monumental movement for our planet, we’re coming together the following weekend on Saturday, April 25 to take small but meaningful steps to help clean up Park Slope. Civic Sweep is hosting a Spring Clean Up! and will provide trash pickers, gloves, and garbage bags, while also guiding volunteers to areas that could use some extra care.
If you would like to volunteer with Shantideva Center and Yogis and Yoginis, please sign up here before April 23 and choose time slots:

Compassion in Action
What does it mean to practice Compassion in Action as a society?
” I believe that at every level of society – familial, tribal, national and international – the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion. We do not need to become religious, nor do we need to believe in an ideology. All that is necessary is for each of us to develop our good human qualities. I try to treat whoever I meet as an old friend. This gives me a genuine feeling of happiness. It is the practice of compassion.”- His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
