The wish-granting Wish-Fulfilling Jewel,
Source of every single benefit and happiness in this world,
To the incomparably kind Tenzin Gyatso, I beseech:
May all your holy wishes be spontaneously fulfilled.– Prayer of the Long Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is having a birthday, and we invite you all to come celebrate with us! As the spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness has devoted his life to bringing happiness to all living beings everywhere
On the event of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso’s 91st birthday, Venerable Robina Courtin and Shantideva Center invite you to a screening of the film, Kundun. In this 1997 Oscar-nominated film directed by Martin Scorsese, Kundun chronicles His Holiness’s early childhood, his enthronement, the Chinese invasion and his eventual journey into exile. Afterwards we will have a lively discussion and recite long life prayers. Refreshments will be served. Please gather at 2pm and the film will begin shortly after.
The very best gift we can give to our kind teachers is the offering of our own sincere spiritual practice. Please bring Your Own Bodhicitta!
