The wish-granting Wish-Fulfilling Jewel,
Source of every single benefit and happiness in this world,
To the incomparably kind Tenzin Gyatso, I beseech:
May all your holy wishes be spontaneously fulfilled.
– Prayer of the Long Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is having a birthday, and we invite you all to come celebrate with us! As the spiritual leader of Tibet, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso has devoted his life to bringing happiness to all living beings everywhere. As seeing his mere image inspires the very best qualities in us, we gather in honor of his boundless warmth, compassion, and steadfast leadership.
In celebration of His Holiness’s 85th birthday, join Shantideva Center in a special evening of praises and practices, which were compiled by Lama Zopa Rinpoche. The evening will be led by Venerable Amy Miller in our virtual gathering space, from your home on July 5 from 7-9pm (which coincides with the morning of July 6, his actual birthday, in India).
The very best offering to our kind teachers is the gift of our own sincere spiritual practice. As part of this evening’s events, we also invite you to come prepared with a photo of His Holiness, and an additional offering of tea and sweet food, to be used in our practice together. Bring Your Own Bodhicitta!
This is an online-only event that is administered using Zoom, as the center is currently closed due to COVID-19. Zoom is an interactive video-conferencing tool that allows participants to see one another and ask questions. You will need a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone with the Zoom application to attend.
After registering, an email receipt will be sent to the email address that you used to register. A login link for Zoom will be on the receipt. If you are using Zoom for the first time, please login a few minutes earlier to allow any necessary installations on your device.
If you have questions about Zoom or on how to access the class online, please contact us at [email protected].
Open donation. All are welcome.
Your generosity makes it possible for us to share the Dharma and continue working together for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Dana for the Teacher
Shantideva Center makes offerings to all of our teachers using the funds collected through registration. You can give additional support to the teacher and create a stronger karmic connection by offering dana. Please make sure to select the teacher’s name in the dropdown menu. Dana offered is passed entirely to the teacher, but please note that it is not tax-deductible.
