Shantideva Center welcomes meditation teacher Stephan Pende as he leads an in-depth guided reading of the Dalai Lama’s book How to See Yourself as You Really Are–which is actually a tightly focused and clear meditation program for learning to see the world and ourselves as we actually exist, without the overlay of false imagination.

This series offers practical tools to awaken bodhichitta in daily life and meditations to deepen our experience of emptiness. We will also have an opportunity to find deeper peace in challenging times, discover meaning in uncertainty, and address anxiety by relying on kindness.

When circumstances are challenging and stressful, do you feel distressed, anxious, and depleted? In this course, Stephan Pende guides us through different meditations from the Buddhist tradition to give us a toolkit to reset our internal thermostat so we can cultivate more calmness and resilience.

Mahamudra is the universal reality of emptiness, of nonduality, the inborn nature of all phenomena. These meditations help us go beyond ego’s addiction to a limited sense of self and taste the lightness and expansiveness of our own true nature.

In these healing and restorative sessions, you will learn time-honored ways of experiencing and resting right now in your natural state of inner peace, the ultimate source of lasting happiness. We will shift from identifying with thoughts, feelings, history, likes and dislikes, to finding out who or what is actually aware.
