The Magic of Masters:
Walking the Three Principles of the Path
Through Living Examples
with Venerable Angie Muir
Tuesdays, Jun 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, 7–8:30pm EDT
ONLINE
What makes a master extraordinary? Not miracles, but transformation.
In this five-week course, we explore the lives of the great lineage masters as living expressions of the Three Principles of the Path — renunciation, bodhicitta, and the wisdom realizing emptiness. Through their stories, the path becomes personal, embodied, and deeply inspiring.
We begin with our kind founder, Shakyamuni Buddha, whose renunciation opened the way to liberation. We meet the fearless yogi Milarepa, whose life shows the power of purification and realization. We reflect on the boundless compassion of the Dalai Lama lineage, and draw close to our FPMT founders, Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, who demonstrated how the lamrim can be lived with joy, devotion, and tireless service.
Through short teachings, meditation and contemplating these life stories we bring the possibility of the path and awakening within our reach.
For beginners and intermediate students.

About the Teacher
![]()
Born in Scotland in 1970, Venerable Angie obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in 1992. Disillusioned with her prospective career path, she left Scotland and spent three years traveling and working in Asia. In 1995, she felt called to India to explore meditation and seek her life path.
Within a few months, she discovered Tibetan Buddhism, met her main spiritual teacher, Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and became ordained. For nearly 30 years, she has followed Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wishes, serving at his personal residences in the US for over 13 years, working at FPMT centers such as Vajrapani Institute and Thubten Norbu Ling, and undertaking personal retreats. She also spent several years in Scotland, teaching and leading meditation retreats.
In 2023, after Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s passing, Venerable Angie was invited to Vajrapani Institute in California, where she now serves as teacher in residence. She currently teaches the FPMT program Discovering Buddhism and offers classes, meditations, and retreats at other centers in North America.
Venerable Angie has a deep love of ritual and helps students integrate mantra and ritual into daily practice. She regularly offers online pujas to enhance positive energy and clear obstacles, and has helped lead pilgrimages to Lawudo Retreat Center in Nepal. She plans to lead more pilgrimages in the future to help others experience the transformative power of sacred places.
