Compassion in Action
Send 500 Local Kids Back to School
Sun Jul 5–Fri Aug 28
IN-PERSON & ONLINE
Let’s come together to make a difference! Join Shantideva Center and Yogis & Yoginis in supporting local children with essential school supplies for the fall school season. We are partnering once again with Camp Friendship, continuing our Compassion in Action partnership from last winter’s Food Drive. Donations will help provide school supplies to 500 local children.
School supply insecurity affects millions of children across the United States each year. Many families struggle to afford basic classroom essentials such as notebooks, pencils, backpacks, and calculators, creating barriers to learning before the school year even begins. By donating school supplies, we can help ensure that children start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Drop-off Schedule
A designated collection container will be located in the lobby.
Drop-off hours: Saturday–Sunday, 9am–4PM, and during scheduled classes or events.

We kindly accept donations of new or unopened items only. Thank you for helping to ensure that every child receives supplies that are ready to use.

Compassion in Action
What does it mean to practice Compassion in Action as a society?
” I believe that at every level of society – familial, tribal, national and international – the key to a happier and more successful world is the growth of compassion. We do not need to become religious, nor do we need to believe in an ideology. All that is necessary is for each of us to develop our good human qualities. I try to treat whoever I meet as an old friend. This gives me a genuine feeling of happiness. It is the practice of compassion.”- His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
